As a branding photographer, one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work is helping entrepreneurs elevate their visual identity. When Jess Nana, a talented web designer, came to me for a branding session, she was looking to refresh her visual presence and showcase her updated offerings in a way that would speak directly to her dream clients. Jess wanted something that was clean, trendy, and timeless—elements that would reflect both her creative expertise and the high-end services she provides. The goal was to create images that not only highlighted her skills but also told a compelling story about the level of professionalism and style her clients could expect when working with her.
We decided to hold the session at my studio, Nikki Estephan Studio, which provided a versatile, minimalist backdrop that would really let Jess shine. To ensure we captured the essence of her brand, I worked closely with her to carefully curate a wardrobe that would complement the aesthetic we were aiming for. We picked clothing pieces that were both modern and elegant, avoiding anything too trendy that could date the photos. The wardrobe choices were strategic—designed to look polished and professional but also comfortable enough to allow Jess’s personality to come through in the images. Every detail, from the cut of the fabrics to the color palette, was carefully chosen to align with the vision she had for her updated brand.
In addition to wardrobe planning, I helped Jess organize the props and accessories for the session, ensuring that each element was not just decorative but purposeful. We focused on using props that would subtly reflect her work as a web designer—items like a sleek laptop, a chic notebook, and minimalistic plants—all of which tied into the clean and sophisticated look Jess was aiming for. These props didn’t overshadow her but added context and depth to the story we were telling through the photos. Together, we created a mood board and shot list that would keep the session streamlined and aligned with her brand’s aesthetic.
To maximize the impact of the session, I also created a session guide for Jess. This guide was a roadmap for the day, ensuring that we stayed organized and on track while also allowing us to stay flexible and creative. The guide included a timeline, detailed shot lists, and specific instructions for posing, so Jess could feel confident and comfortable throughout the shoot. With everything planned out in advance, Jess was able to relax and fully immerse herself in the process, knowing that every aspect was taken care of. The result was a collection of stunning, professional images that perfectly encapsulated her refreshed branding, helping her better connect with her ideal clients and elevate her business to the next level.
I adore Jess, she has been my web designer for a few years now, and also a dear friend in the industry. Its always a joy to spend time with her, and I am so excited for her to share her new elevated branding visuals everywhere!
So much love for you Jess, Xx!
